The last couple of weeks have been up and down for the Brooklyn Nets, and that’s putting it mildly.
Still without their MVP candidate point guard, James Harden, Brooklyn needed time to find the guy to step up and try and fill the much-missed beard. On Saturday in Miami, that guy was Landry Shamet, wow posted thirty points in a narrow 109-107 defeat to the Heat.
To make matters worse, Kevin Durant, who is fresh off his return from a hamstring injury, exited Saturday’s game with a thigh injury in the first quarter. The only remaining healthy member of “The Big Three” was Kyrie Irving, who played one of the worst games of his Nets career.
Before avoiding a skid, the Nets need to get back and track and improve as a collective group. With Shamet heating up and Harden getting healthy, it’s not even close to time to hit the panic button.
Brooklyn needs to prepare for a nationally televised matchup on Tuesday night against Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM Eastern Time.
