Nets Notes: Nets defeat sluggish Celtics

For the Brooklyn Nets, depth would win their game against the Boston Celtics on Friday night.

Throughout the game, the C’s handed the ball over to the Nets like grandmas with cookies to their grandchildren. In fact, the Nets outscored Boston 32-0 on fast breaks.

Still, without James Harden and Kevin Durant, Brooklyn’s ability to click and get things done was impressive. It was a narrow victory for the Nets (109-104), but a win is all that counts in the standings.

Kyrie Irving fell just shy of a triple-double against his former team, posting 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 11 assists. Jeff Green, Joe Harris, and Bruce Brown all stood out as well. Another positive for Brooklyn is that Spencer Dinwiddie is possibly making a return in the postseason and making tremendous progress in his recovery.

The Nets look to get healthy and hold their ground in the Eastern Conference standings. They play again at home on Sunday against the Phoenix Suns. Tip-off is set for 3:30 PM Eastern Time.
