Let’s just say that Anthony Beauvillier, Brock Nelson, and Josh Bailey are owed an enormous debt of gratitude for their game six performance against the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum Wednesday night.

Each team exchanged goals in the first period and a half, with Pittsburgh picking up a 3-2 lead less than two minutes into the second period. New York scored three unanswered goals from there, two of which came from Nelson. Isles goaltender Ilya Sorokin more than did his job, as usual.
New York took the game 5-3 and the series 3-2. While they haven’t yet established their absolute best hockey, they are moving closer and closer to it and will get there. They are met with a formidable opponent in the second round – the Boston Bruins, who New York has had little success against since Boston’s trade deadline splash. The schedule for the second-round series will be announced in the coming days.
