Sluggish Yankees defeated by high powered Toronto offense

After starting to look like a team in their last two games, Tuesday night couldn’t have gone any worse for the New York Yankees. In the second game of their three-game set against the Toronto Blue Jays, Aaron Boone’s club seemed to be confident with Jameson Taillon on the bump.

That confidence quickly faded, and the Yanks fell down 6-0 in just four innings. They put a run in the seventh and two runs in the eighth but allowed a run in the eighth. The Pinstripes were shut down in the top of the ninth, losing this one 7-3.

Yes, it’s early, but this group needs to find some consistency. Being a fringe playoff team like they were last year is unacceptable for a group with the talent and leadership the Bombers have.

With the series up for grabs, the Yanks look to put up a better fight on Wednesday against these same Jays. First pitch is set for 1:07 PM Eastern Time.
